CERN excursion on 12 - 14 February 2025:
The bus to Geneva will leave on Wed, 12 Feb, at 08:00 from Heidelberg (exact location to be defined).
The bus will arrive between 15:00 and 16:00 at CERN. You will be given entrance batches and we will start the visit of the first experiment (ATLAS; 17:00-19:00).
After the visit we will go together (probably by tram) to the hostel (Geneva Hostel, Rue Rothschild 28-30) where you will stay: https://genevahostel.ch
On Thursday, we will visit in the morning the LHCb experiment and in the afternoon the ALICE experiment. For the evening I am trying to organize a common dinner (Swiss fondue, on your own cost) in the famous Bains des Paquis, close to your hostel.
Friday we have foreseen a visit of the Anti-Proton Accelerator complex (AD) and the CERN IT centre. We will leave CERN at around 11:00 to return to Heidelberg (expected arrival at 18:00).

The expected costs for travel and accommodation (breakfast included) is about 120 EUR. All other meals are not included.
To confirm your reservation I would like to ask you to make a prepayment of 60 EUR (or the full amount of 120 EUR) until 15/12/2024. There are two options:

2) Cash: Our group assistance, Ms Wallenwein (office hours 09:00-17:30),
is collecting the money. Her office is: INF 226, 03-104.
The remaining 60 EUR need to be paid until 15/01/2025. If you like, you can already pay the full amount by 15/12/2024 (simplifies your life).
