The workshop takes place in the Golden Box at the Physics Institute, Im Neuenheimer Feld 226, 69120 Heidelberg.
Heidelberg can be reached from the airport Frankfurt by airport shuttle, by Flixbus or by train.
- Airport shuttle: Lufthansa operates a shuttle from the airport Frankfurt to Heidelberg. You will need a booking for this shuttle which can be done on their webpage. Please check the schedule here (available only in German, english version under construction) https://frankfurt-airport-shuttles.de/index.php If you need a booking on this shuttle and you cannot deal with the German schedule version please contact the organizers.
- FlixBus offers connections from airport Frankfurt to Heidelberg train station, please find the schedule here https://www.flixbus.de/
- Train: The schedule of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (German railway company) can be found here https://int.bahn.de/en There are different ways to get from airport Frankfurt to Heidelberg, the most convenient is to take an ICE train to Mannheim, then change to a local train Mannheim - Heidelberg. At the airport ICE trains leave from the FERNBAHNHOF (train station long distance trains).There are ticket machines at the entrance to FERNBAHNHOF where you can purchase the train ticket. Alternatively, if you don't like ticket machines, or the ticket machine doesn't like you, there is a travel service center within the train station hall where you can get personalized service by talking to staff of Deutsche Bundesbahn.
There are several options to get from hotel IBIS to Physics Institute where the workhop takes place.
- An easy 15 min walk: From the plaza in front of the train station you walk towards the Neckar, the river of Heidelberg. At the end of the bridge you take the next street left and enter the university campus Neuenheimer Feld. Please consult the map below on how to reach the institute.
- Bus 20 or 32: From the train station take bus 20 or 32 direction "Sportzentrum Nord". Exit the bus at the 3rd bus stop at "Kirschnerstrasse". Please consult the map below for the final 2 min walk to the institute.
- Tram 24: From the train station take tram 24 direction "Handschuhsheim". Exit the tram at the 2nd stop "Jahnstrasse", or at the 3rd stop "Bunsengymnasium": Please consult the map below for the final walk to reach the institute.
