WELCOME RECEPTION & REGISTRATION

QSEC2019 invites all participants for registration and a welcome reception as a first opportunity to network and socialize in a more relaxed atmosphere. Drinks and finger food will be served.

CONFERENCE DINNER

The Conference Dinner provides an opportunity for the participants to relax and enjoy meeting outside the scientific programme. Please note that the Conference Dinner is NOT included in the registration fee. You can opt for the Conference Dinner in the registration form.

COSTS: 65,00€ (including a welcome reception, 3-course menu and drinks for the evening, shuttle service from Schlosshotel Molkenkur - Bismarckplatz Heidelberg)

We will offer a 3-course menu with vegetarian/vegan options for the main course. The menu will be the following:

EXCURSIONS

TOUR I: OLD TOWN TOUR WITH BOAT TRIP
Discover the beauty of Heidelberg in an Old Town Tour followed by experiencing the city’s special flair during a 50-minute boat trip along the banks of the River Neckar. This combined guided Tour on foot and by boat will introduce Heidelberg’s triad of river, city and Castle to you.

TOUR II: OLD TOWN AND CASTLE TOUR
The combined Old Town and Castle Tour brings history to life. Use a guided Tour through the winding alleys of the Old Town to learn about the many facets of Heidelberg – sleepy squares, Germany’s oldest university, the Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Spirit) and the Jesuit quarter. The funicular railway will take you up to the Castle thereafter. Explore the electoral ruin in a round Tour through the inner courtyard and the Castle garden and visit the famous Großes Fass (Large Barrel).

LAB TOURS

On Wednesday afternoon there will be the opportunity to visit labs at Max Planck Institute (MPIK), Kirchhoff-Institute (KIP) and the Physics Institute (PI). Please note that Lab Tours and the Excursions will be offered parallely. You can choose either Lab Tours or Excursion.

Lab Tour I at Kirchhoff Institute for Physics and Physics Institute

- cold atom experiments (bosonic, fermionic, mixture systems)

Lab Tour II at Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics

- highly charged and trapped ions
